If that is the case, I filed that ticket two months ago and Even has
fixed it already http://trac.osgeo.org/gdal/ticket/2823 but maybe it is
not on that build.

Perhaps, the problem is with the colon (:) in the path. There may be
some confusion with the path. Try to work around the colon by mounting
the D drive on any other folder in the F drive and provide a relative
path to the FWTools' bin folder. Let me know how it goes.
