I'd like to play the "devil's advocate" here... please
bear with me...

I have had friends, quite a few, that have used heat
rocks and NEVER had a problem with them (not that I am
doubting any of you... remember "devil's advocate"
here!) and swear by them.... they've used them for
years! Most petstores (don't yell!) also use them in
their tanks for display... most I have talked to (I
know the owners personally) say they have never had a
problem either....one in particular that I worked for,
she had been in business for 25 years and never had
one go bad on her... but she doesn't keep them for
long periods of time... after about 4-5 years use, she
throws them away (at least that what she told me!) She
especially liked a heat rock that actually looks like
a log... never seen them around though I have
looked...

Can I get feed back on all of this? Thanks!
