> How do you handle this problem? Or is it a problem? If you choose your SMD chips carefully then SMD parts are not a problem. If possible choose devices with larger pitches (1.27mm over 0.65mm). If you stay away from BGAs, LFCSP and so on you will be able to solder just about anything with a decent soldering iron, flux and some solder wick. Flux is important.... *really* important for devices with less than 1.27mm pin pitch.
It will take some practice, and prepare yourself for accidentally stripping pads off of a PCB. Make sure your pads have decent track sizes connected to them and you should be okay - beware the unconnected pad! -- Turn ideas into products - http://www.engineersimplicity.com The Art of Engineering - http://blog.engineersimplicity.com _______________________________________________ geda-user mailing list geda-user@moria.seul.org http://www.seul.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/geda-user
