Yes it is. Unlike ltspice eagle is inferior to gschem in many relevant ways. Most notably it's GUI is a real PITA, in particular to newbies. Thus such an advice probably would not help the OP with his project. Unfortunately, the opposite is true for gschem/gnucap vs ltspice.
