Ja, saya percaya.
Meskipun saya, dan istri serta orang tua kami tidak ada yang berbakat di
muziek,
kami leskan anak belajar orgel.
Mungkin ada setahun, bisa main agak lumayan. Tetapi setelah itu tambah
malas latihan.
Hanya seperempat jam latihan, baru pergi les. Kemudian toch minta berhenti.
Bakatnya ada di olahraga : tennis, main sepakbola, pencak silat. Belakangan
baru golf.
Suatu hari ketemu adiknya Sie Nie Sie, juara tennis Indonesia dulu. Adiknya
ini, Bing, pernah
jadi juara junior tennis Indonesia. Habis latihan, pulang ke rumah.
Lihat orgel, anak saya disuruh main. lalu dia suruh anak saya main tanpa
lihat notenbalk.
Anak saya tidak bisa. Lalu Bing main yang dimainkan anak saya tanpa lihat
notenbalk.
Bisa dan lancar. Dia bilang, kalau dengari orang nyanyi harusnya bisa
mengiringi, tanpa lihat
notenbalk. Lalu di situ saya tahu, memang anak saya seperti kami, tidak
brbakat muziek.
Teman saya tanya saya mau nyanyi apa. Saya bilang Lily Marlene. Dia bilang
belum pernah
tahu untuk mengiringinya dengan key-bord. Suruh saya nyanyi sepotong. Eh,
dia bisa, bagus
mengiringi kami nyanyi, meskipun belum pernah melakukannya pakai notenbalk.
