Thanks Keith,

I should have said we're already on 64-bit. Are you saying you saw 30%
increase from win 64-bit to linux 64-bit??

Rob

We saw about a 30% increase performance going from Windows to Linux
boxes. The biggest difference was going from 32-bit to 64-bit on either
platform.

If you're running 32-bit you will definitely have all the problems you
mentioned, Windows seems to suffer the most with heap fragmentation in
that scenario.

Subject: [MarkLogic Dev General] MarkLogic on RedHat vs Windows

Hi

I'm interested to know if there any performance differences running
MarkLogic on RedHat versus Windows on the same hardware. Our
development server is Windows 2003 and we seem to have more problems
with things like memory exhaustion and high CPU usage than we see on our
RedHat servers. It's not a fair comparison because the hardware and
usage is different, but I wonder if moving to RedHat would improve
things - maybe MarkLogic is more optimised for RedHat?

Thanks
Rob
