Keep in mind that nobody's proposing to rename .22 branch into 2 right away. This will be addressed at a later point during one of the (hopefully) regular releases off of that branch. Reserving branch-2 version slot is cheap and IMHO doesn't complicate anything. It does, however, give .22 branch a right to mature. Thanks, Roman.
