While I understand the concern with the need for it to be clear to users (developers using Maven) that they are using an incubator release, and not an endorsed-by-Apache release, I believe the requirement to have "incubating" in the version number handles this requirement. The type of user that cares about the distinction will see the incubating in the jar file name, and/or at least look at the site of the dependencies being used. Conversely, if a user never looks at the dependencies being used because they just let Maven do magic, then they don't even know the code is from Apache, so there can't be any implied endorsement by the ASF. -- Stephen Duncan Jr www.stephenduncanjr.com
