Brian,

Do you mind sending an email to pmcs AT apache.org to inform them that they should be using this new version of Apache pom? And any other additional instructions needed to enable this "feature" to work.

thanks,
dims

This problem has been solved and is no longer valid. Any
repetition of the old news is total fud. We have for many months now
been providing proper source releases for EVERYTHING in the maven
project and just recently promoted the same to the Apache pom making
it automatic for any Apache project with the new pom. See links below
for more info:

As far as I understand the requirements, this issue is completely
resolved so lets stop saying that Maven produces incorrect releases.
It was never an issue with the tool itself, but as a project we've
fixed it and are sharing it to all projects at Apache using Maven.
