Just to clarify:
We decided to post to the Design list with the [Scooby] and [Cosmo]
tags so that we could centralize all design discussions on the design
list while providing the people who were mostly interested in Scooby
and Cosmo a quick way to find relevant emails.
As a result, anything having to do with design should only go to the
design list.

If the e-mail I send is about a design issues but relates to
Scooby & Cosmo, I usually send To: design-list, Cc: scooby-dev &
cosmo-dev, then in the e-mail I would asked people to "Please
respond to the design list only!" at the top/bottom. That way if
you just hit 'Reply' opposed to 'Reply all', it will automatically
send to the design list. It's worked on the most part...not a
perfect system 'cause the down side, if some people do "Reply-
all', then you have two threads going. =(
I think this is exactly the pattern Ted (and others) are trying to
avoid.. even without the replies, most of us will end up reading a
cross posted message once for each mailing list they're subscribed
to... which means in the case you list above, it shows up three
times in my inbox. Oy.
Anyone who does care about design will be reading the design list
anyway... and in the case of the core teams, I think that applies
to everyone. If they're on the scooby-dev list but not the design
list, then the expectation is that they don't care about design
issues and may just be focused on backend work.
So, +1 to avoiding cross posting as a convenience mechanism
