Hello, This is Jing from USC Computational Molecular Biology department. Recently I have been using the UCSC altEvent information for human and it is quite helpful. However, I have some confusion about the altPromoter event. For the altFivePrime events, the start and end positions means two possible five prime side. Then how about the altPromoter start and end points? Are they two possible positions or the starting and ending points of one region? Besides, it is very interesting that the difference of the starting and ending positions of each altPromoter line are all 150. Why it is like this?
I tried to read the description of the data and searched for some presentations of it, but still can not understand the altPromoter lines. Would you please provide me some information about these problems? Many thanks in advance.
