Hi,

I am trying to figure out how to construct a valid URL to link from my web page
directly to a Genome Browser gene/transcript description page. On-line
documentation only describes how to link to a graphical locus view but I would
prefer to be able to reach text pages with detailed annotations instead. Is
this even possible? So far, I came out with the following URL:

http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-
bin/hgGene?hgg_type=knownGene&db=hg19&hgg_gene=uc003kfr.4

However, when attempting to follow this link I usually receive the following
error message instead of gene description page:

getCurGenePred: Can't find select * from knownGene where name = 'uc003kfr.4'
and chrom = 'chr5' and txStart=78073036 and txEnd=78282357

Sometimes, if I go to the graphical browser page first and then try the same
direct link it suddenly works as expected.

I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Ivan
