It's more than enough to write unit tests to ensure that all things
changed from 0 to 1 are functioning correctly.

So you're saying they did do adequate testing before releasing, and
that you're happy to have the use of EAPIs in Gentoo's tree being
restricted by pkgcore's level of testing?
