I got 2.6.1 to build, and after disabling PROM console and serial port support, I got it to boot. 2.6.1 crashed within about 20 minutes of starting crashme.sh. The compile errors were actually warnings in arch/sparc64/kernel and arch/sparc64/mm which compiles with -Werror plus one include. I'm going to start on 2.5 kernels from the bottom...
