Surely the fact that I can compile my own kernel (which I have had to do for ide-scsi support, sound driver in the kernel and a few other things) would suggest that my kernel and kernel-headers are correct? I removed the portage nvidia drivers with the command emerge unmerge nvidia-glx and emerge unmerge nvidia-kernel but this hasn't helped at all (and was done when I first tried the install of the 'official' drivers anyway) -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list
