You've got a VIA Pro chipset, but you've only selected the generic driver :)


In your kernel config, go to:
ATA/IDE/MFM/RLL support  --->
IDE, ATA and ATAPI Block devices  --->
and enable 'VIA82CXXX chipset support'

Also make sure that 'Use PCI DMA by default when available' is enabled,
(it's on the same page).
You will then get DMA automatically on all your drives on boot.
