Hell, I'm typing this up on Mac OS X which is a "fork" of BSD.
Debian has "forks" too. Must I go on?

Trying to figure out what exactly a "fork" is. Is that when they take the source code of a distro and make their own out of it? Thats the conclusion that I came up with after reading.
