It seems that there is no gla USE flag for xfree, do a "emerge -pv
xfree" and you will see all the available USE flags for xfree, and there
is no glx. By the way the ones marked in red are the flags that will be
used for compiling xfree.
Maybe you can check your /etc/X11/XF86Config. In the modules section of
that file there should be a line,
Load "glx"
which is commented by default. You have to uncomment that line to get
your glx going.
