ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" before emerge means use the latest, in-testing, package. You should avoid this unless there is some feature in the testing package that you need, or if you are interested in testing. In my experience, most ~x86 packages work well, but not always. That's true, though, of the stable packages as well.
