I'd like at least to be able to use my mouse to cut and paste. gentoo finds my usb, logitec optical mouse on boot. Is there a method of configuring it without having to set up X.
Check out GPM:
# emerge -av gpm # /etc/init.d/gpm start
You can highlight and paste text with different mouse buttons, although I forgot which off hand.
