it would show up as eth2 at present?

Deleting the file removes all persistent naming rules, so it starts with eth0 on the next boot. The file is updated when udev initialises a card,
it's not touched on shutdown.


I understand the reason for deleting this file, but the NIC isn't showing up AT ALL at present. (as I read the postings; the post's subject might have been better titled "Network card not recognised")
