I'm not a userrep, but I was under the impression that it was an elected

the users' opinions again? (Granted, I'm unfamiliar with what's going on, if
it's a short-term substitution just ignore me.)

Hi Kojiro!
That's the reason why I want to discuss this matter with userrel.
Since this is the first time that something like this has happened,
there is no existing rule for such a case, so it has to be discussed
first.
My first thought also was that an election would be needed. but
thinking about it twice, I figured that it would take a quite long
time to go thru all this again. And there is no one else that was a
quarter as interested in this project.
Another thought that occured to me was that it would make much sense
if we would be able to pick someone that we know would fit in our
team. djay-il also would need like no time at all to be able to start
working at this project, because he is better informed about most
matters than some of us are. So I guess you can see that I have some
quite selfish reason on my mind too. ;)
Nevertheless I'm still planning to open a thread in the forums and on
ML to let the user community discuss all this too. So we can see what
peeps think about it. But before doing that I wanted it to be discuss
with userrel.
If you are interested, you are very welcome to join us in the debate. ;)
cheers,
loki99
