Well having a second mailing list will not change to much to me, in a
way or the other I will still receive the same mails and rely on filters
to organize everything. The downsides will be that the community will
have to maintain a second mailing list and developers will have to
register on two mailing lists.
Regarding JIRA, I don't have any ideas how to reduce the number of mails
and personally I think it provides me the information I need.
Regarding Jenkins , we could probably come with some rules to reduce the
number of mails but in my opinion the system should make all the
information available to the community and if someone is not interested
he can create a archive/delete rule.
Although as a developer there is three Jenkins states that are very
important to me and I would like to be able identify:
- I broke the build
- The build is very unstable
- The build was very unstable and is now back to normal
Right now I don't have any rule that allow-me to identify those
situations and mark them as very important, I need to do some tests to
see if can make something like this work :)
