Of course I would be happy with that. There is however some tasks that will be 
required anyway. In geotidy I applied aggressive removal of deprecated methods. 
Some of those methods are certainly in use in the geotools code base. So we 
will 
need to decide on a case-by-case basis, either we change the code that were 
using the deprecated method, or we reinject some deprecated methods in a 
geotidy 
clone (not on the original geotidy repository since its goal is to be clean in 
that regards). So I was planning to work on the geotidy-geotools linkage anyway.

I think that it will take time before we get a better picture of what the model 
may be. Maybe at next FOSS4G as you suggest, we will have a clearer picture.
