As a Jedi would say, "this is not the documentation you're looking for".
I believe there is no documentation for the new approach, but afaik it's pretty 
similar to the GeoServer ones,
the scripts do pretty much the same things (minus the creation of installers):
So I would need to muddle through as well; Victor if you could take notes on 
the steps needed it would
be very helpful.


To make the release on GeoServer I already have access to Hudson. Right now I 
will require access to JIRA and Sourceforge.

Just made yo release manager in GeoTools on sourceforge. For Jira I don't know, 
I am admin but it seems the permissions there
are managed via roles, and don't know how to assign you a role...
Victor can I ask you to apply to be a "despot" on xicles? I think that will 
grant you permission to release in Jira.
