In general I am pretty -1 on any major reformatting like this as whenever I
have seen it done it does more harm than good. Maybe on a few classes here
and there perhaps that are known to be a mess.

We should really be on people when they commit stuff to use proper
formatting. As for patches on misformatted classes I just think one has to
deal with it and avoid the temptation to reformat.

while back that mention formatting.
