It's the same old problem... I don't have time to come up to speed with a code base that doesn't have a lot to do with what I'm working on.
Since I posted the initial enquiry, I now have a working virtual world out of chopped up Blue Marble, overlaying higher resolution maps in spots of interest. So my immediate need is mostly met, though there are a number of remaining things to polish which keep me interested in OSSIMplanet.
If things work out well, I'd rather merge my stuff into that project instead of maintaining the globe code as well.
