I help admin a couple lists where we are using Nabble as our crossover platform. Overall it's fairly successful, in that it allows web-centric users to stay on the web, and email-lovers to keep getting their email.
The Nabble users tend to be less technical, but also have access to better context than the mailing list users, so often can find their answers without posting first.
The only real hassle is allowing posts from unsubscribed Nabble users, and adding their email addresses to the mailman whitelist.
