Split cage?

Hello
Is it difficult to add a male (about 1,5years old) to two other males (one
about 2,5years old and the other, his son, about 5 months old)?
I need to separate a couple (male/female). I have tried the split cage
method before, with good results but not with two on one side and one on the
other.
