Hi all,
I've got a question. My little Thumbelina, the runt of my Pepper's last
litter, still hasn't opened her eyes (she'll be 5 weeks on the 6th). I
expected her to be delayed a while, but not this long. Is there still a
chance she might open her eyes eventually, or can I pretty much assume she's
gonna go through life without being able to see? Oh, and just for an update,
her tail's not as bad as it used to be. Instead of her tail being bent at a
90 degree angle, it looks more like a wave ^_^
She's still cute as ever and is always the first to jump on my hand ^_^ In
fact, she even led a little raid on me today. I put my hand in their tank in
my customary way, trying to get them all used to me and people (I'll admit, I
got swamped with work and such when the pups were all born, so I didn't get
the chance to really interact with em while they were still really young
pups) and Thumbelina hopped/jumped/walked over to me, climbed onto my
hand..and up my arm...and pretty soon I had both of her brothers and both of
her sisters on my arms/shoulder/back. As soon as one would get off, another
would climb on, eventually her big sis decided she was gonna try, too. The
one amazing thing for me though, was her Momma also decided to take a little
romp. Pepper prefers to keep to herself and doesn't really like being messed
with, and she'll usually come over to me, sniff my hand, nip at it, dig at
it, nip at it again, and then leave.
Ok, well I got way off topic there ^_^ Thanks for listening to my silly
story and for any help on Thumbelina's eye development ^_^
