Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to give an update about our little
injured babies (Blackie and Pinkie, named when their pigment showed ((a agouti
and a argentine golden, I think)))
We decided that Foxy and Skittles are too skittish
to accept them (they have a litter that is just a few days younger). Pinkie's
both front legs appear to be broken but she has learned how to walk around quite
well, and Blackie appears to have 3 legs broken (1 front and both back) and he
is just as quick getting around the cage. They are at that age where they are
chewing gerbil food and they just started to drink from the water bottle this
evening (don't worry we are still giving them KMR.. they just don't like the
sport sock I wear to give them it*) But they are returning to their old selves
now so I think they are going make it! (We have had to raise gerbils their age
without their mom before)
Just thought I would send an update**
Heather & Aaron
(and the 11 squeakers)
*I wear a sport sock on my hand cause they don't
care to be touched at all and I have a few little blackie-tooth-sized-holes in
my finger to try to do it any other way!
** Please feel free to send me any ideas of what
else we can do to make this as easy as possible on them
:)
