service-cache was created by N. Alex Rupp as sort of a "feeder" into geronimo - so poeple could collaborate on small mini-projects that may eventually be incorporated into Geronimo. This keeps the ASF from having to keep adding commiters for small little projects that aren't necessarily part of the Geronimo project. It was also a way (besides hosting it on someone's personal box) to give multiple users cvs access on these such mini-projects so that the source could be worked on toghether. -Matt K.
