Adding a line break for each speaker change led to some crummy formatting due to the line breaks already embedded in the subtitles. But, I can go back the previous scheme that used a line break for speaker change and wrapping everywhere else. Assuming that the new format is here to stay and not the tragic accident it appears to be, fewer and fewer programmes will have detectable speaker changes in subtitles, so either way is OK by me. That's why I wanted people who have an interest in subtitles to sound off.
