Ever since my Mac upgraded itself to 10.4.4, my Windows XP box has refused to connect to it. They can both see the internet via the ADSL router which acts as a DHCP server in issuing IP addresses within the same sub net range. Sharing is on, login names and passwords with full admin privileges are set up, but it just refuses to connect.

I do have a W2K server which both machines can connect to, but I don't want it on all the time as it's an old, noisy, slow, low storage capacity box!

I wondered whether it would be possible to write a simple RB version of the old Laplink program which would facilitate transferring files between the two boxes. (I keep all backups on the PC, as the old Titanium is just about full up, also all the mail handling is done on the PC as it gives me a single searchable mail archive).

Has anyone done anything like this and would be willing to point me in the right direction?

TIA
Douglas Neale
