IMHO this response sounds like short term thinking maintained by by malevolent thinking. In the long term gimp needs an interface that will attract inductry standard users. It does noit have one. An appropriate response by this list is to encourage gimpshop back into the fold BECAUSE it has something valuable to contribute. Anything less is biting off ones nose to spite one's face. While your attitude may be understandable in the circumstances surely you must see that it does not make other feel this is a friendly, welcoming and thoughful community driven by a determination to act in the long term interests of users. IMHO it would be better to think of long term benefit rather rely on emotianally driven anger. That does not mean provide "official" or "expected" support. Just stop spitting or discouraging legitimate dialogue.
