b4n left a comment (geany/geany#4499) Does the whole app lags for mouse clicks, or just the main editing area? If it's only the editor, it's probably an issue with Scintilla, otherwise with Geany.
Could you try a fresh configuration just to rule out configuration modifications and plugins?
