Well since I posted this, I'm running Gentoo with i3 and picom and it's fast and smooth. So I don't get what is going on with that, other than the bloat of Systemd killing it off somehow. Cause it's night and day betwenn Gentoo and Arch. SO if I ever get back to Arch I will be sure to report back. But Larry has me under his spell, LOL, so I may never go back to Arch. Gentoo OpenRC i3 WOW is all I can say, I've never seen a distro blaze so fast.
