I am preparing a focused logical-schema follow-up for CASE result field metadata, based on a fix we needed for Arrow extension-aware type checking in Embucket. It preserves metadata shared by value branches (including typed NULLs) and keeps nested CASE planning bounded. I have reviewed #24865; this is the complementary CASE `ExprSchemable::to_field` slice, not a duplicate of the COALESCE/NVL change. Physical `CaseExpr` and the constant-false simplifier remain separate follow-ups, so I will not claim this resolves the full end-to-end UDF reproducer.
