## Which issue does this PR close? - N/A ## Rationale for this change Arrow 60 added `value_field()` to `GenericListArray`, `GenericListViewArray` and `FixedSizeListArray`. It returns the field that describes the list's elements. This PR adopts this new API more broadly, which enables removing some boilerplate and simplifying a few APIs. ## What changes are included in this PR? * Call `value_field` instead of matching on `data_type` directly * Update various APIs that passed both a typed list array along with a separate element field; the latter can be omitted ## What is the testing strategy for this PR?
