This is an interesting thread for me. MY experience seems to be quite different. The online sources absolutely nailed my prescription. In fact much better than the brick and mortar place I was going to.
I am getting gunshy of buying online due to MY experience with FRAME quality, and I have NOT been buying the cheapest frames from Zenni et al. My "shape memory titanium" frames from Zenni LOOKED very good, but they always seemed a bit flimsy, so I handled them extremely gently. After only 5 months, they SNAPPED exactly in half on the nose bridge wire...completely unfixable(even with nerd tape!) and completely past warranty. But FAR short from lasting as long as ANY of the brick and mortar store glasses I have owned, and with a 6 week wait to get those glasses, its a painful wait to replace them, even if they were only $35. My other frame from another source came to me with a pre-mangled frame for a $100 pair of online glasses. Am I just bucking the odds for bad luck or are there sources that have better quality or are their particular types of frames I should steer clear of? (such as anything with a CLAIM of "titanium"?)
