There is other suggestion but i didn't test yet, fribidi add the fix to arabic shaping but it is still in their CVS, i'm gonna to test it as soon as possible

There is a big risk some linux guy updates something that breaks OS X subsystem, while OS X maintainer is away. I'm afraid that in the long run this will just make ports more difficult.
