We use the field 'Status' for that with suches values like 'Stock',
'Production', 'Maintenance' or financial considerations like
'Désinvesti' (Sorry I don't know the English word for it).
So you should think about the different steps in the lifecycle of your
materials, create and customize values in 'status'.
