What audio driver do you use? Gmerlin it's best tested with pulseaudio. If I use Alsa while pulseaudio runs, I also get glitches. > for > the image, I only see a white screen. Should also not happen. If the screen is black or dark-green you can at least guess the bug. Never had a white one though :) Could you find out what pixelformat it uses for output? The commandline player dumps it to the console, in the GUI player you find it under windows -> track info -> video -> output format > I have also some thoughts on the usability of the main gmerlin > apps, such as gmerlin_recorder. I know that usability is one of the main weaknesses. The art is to have an easy to use UI while keeping the internal architecture clean. And without question for me personally a clean code is more important (because I know how to use the apps anyway). Another option is always to take libgmerlin and build all fancy applications with it. In this respect I consider my applications as reference apps to demonstrate what my libs are capable of. One important thing I plan in any case are presets for many configuration things. I know that not everyone wants dig through dozens of x264 options :) > as for bugginess: > > I would love to record stuff with gmerlin_recorder, but it simply > doesn't work with my normal ubuntu setup. You are probably the first one except me who tries the brand-new recorder and I tested it only with webcams :) Anyway your bug-reporting efforts are highly appreciated. I'm too lazy to change my OS all the time so I have my system where everything works. I'm always surprised what can break if you have only a slightly different configuration.
