I've just had a look at what options savannah has which we currently don't use. There is "Keywords" (List of comma separated keywords associated with this item), and a number of customisable fields - "Customizable Text Field" (one line, up to 255 characters), "Customizable Text Area" (multi-line text), and "Customizable Select Box" (pull down menu with predefined values).
