Okay... I took a vacation day and went to St. Mary's Bank Tuesday
morning. The account rep that was "on duty", while nice and
apparently eager to help, was also rather clueless. There was some
question (in her eyes) about the type of account we could get, as
we're not a for-profit business, but we're also not an IRS-registered
501(c) organization yet, either.

More significantly, she told me that two-signature checks (such that
two people have to sign a check for it to be considered properly
authorized) are no longer offered at St. Mary's Bank. She said they
used to be offered, but are no longer. I mentioned that the phone rep
I talked to last week said they were offered. I then sat and watched
as she phoned somebody, and allegedly verified they are not available.

I'm going to call the central switchboard again, hopefully tomorrow,
and see if I can get some kind of independent verification, as the
in-person rep did not instill me with confidence.

She did give the paperwork needed to open the account -- the forms
that supposedly didn't exist Saturday. So we can proceed with
opening... some sort of account... if we want to. Oh, but we have to
agree to a bunch of terms and conditions she couldn't/wouldn't print
for me.

At this point, I'm questioning whether St. Mary's is a good choice.
I haven't gotten the same answer to a question twice yet. Supposedly
they have a good reputation, but I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling.
Do we want to consider an alternate?

Er, yes. This came up during the last board meeting. The phone rep
said this could be declined. But see above.
