BUILD/RELEASE ENGINEER
Play a critical role on our Product Engineering team
as a
Build/Release Engineer. You will be responsible for
build
management/maintenance and release package
preparation of new
and upgrade software releases for our flagship
workstation product
line. Ensure successful/consistent SW builds; manage
and
administer the software configuration management
system
(ClearCase), manage multiple project development
branches, handle
details of compilation, linking and archiving of
multi-platform
product builds, perform minor bug fixes when
necessary and
coordinate with developers on module revisions and
maintenance.
Organize and maintain executable and collateral
material for release
packaging, prepare release media masters, handle
production of
release media and perform installation scripting and
related tool
development. Assist system administrator as needed.
Requires
BS/CS/Eng or equivalent, with experience in software
development,
build management or release engineering. Strong Unix
background,
familiarity with standard Unix tools and utilities
(e.g., perl, awk,
sed, etc), & demonstrated Unix shell scripting
required. Experience
with developing/maintaining sophisticated make
environments;
setting up/operating configuration mgmt systems;
familiarity with
industry standard installation packaging technology
(e.g.,
SGI/Sun/HP/RPM software packaging and installation
tools). Clearcase,
IRIX experience and the ability to independently fix
minor code
problems encountered when building new software
versions
desired.
