Well, I could make the obligatory comment about you have the source, fix it 
yourself, but it looks like this driver is in two pieces - the GPL'd part that 
you can fix, and the binary .dsp that is the firmware upload to the DSP itself.

Of course, my discussions last year with one of the IBM folks indicates that 
this in itself is a major concession on the 3rd party part.  Now to work on 
getting the .dsp package GPL'd, so people could reprogram the DSP ;-)
