Same here. (btw, I have the same list of CC aliases defined as Karl :)

I'd also like to point out that I never said you can't use aliases,
or that all aliases are bad. I said, in response to this question:

        >Anyone else want to offer some neat, tricky, crafty
        >additions for an (Linux) alias file ?

Paul> Yeah, don't have one. If you learn the commands and learn
Paul> them well you don't need aliases.

Compared to other philosophical debates I've weighed in on in the
past, this is not really very strong language, especially for me :)

I've also admitted to having a few aliases of my own, so it's not
something I'm fanatical about. All my objections to aliases were
more in regards to abusing the alias feature and doing stupid things
with them like overriding a command by replacing it with an alias of
the same name.

In general, I do not use aliases. Those shortcuts I do find useful,
actually tend to be shell functions vs. alias (of course that
difference is more a semantic argument).

Though, I'd like to point out that if you have in fact passed the
"Seventh Circle of the Temple of Bourne" then you're probably aware
of all the various problems one can encounter using aliases, so
please, feel free to use them :)
