I'm no expert either, but I'm having trouble *finding* some good laymen
information on it. Laymen in the sense that I am old school C programmer
who only used vi and make to build tools and don't have any of this higher
level sort-of-object-oriented-programming under my belt.
My message may be off base a little, but I guess what I'm looking for
is an easy to understand explanation of what Miguel is trying to do without
the incessant praise of M$. Leave the Beast out of the conversation and
just explain to me exactly what my desktop is going to be doing, if anything,
without my consent and that it'll never be touching a *.microsoft.com machine.
I actually find his latest statements (quoted in The Register) as a bit
offensive. Telling people to 'get over it' when referring to our issues
with M$ shows that he has little or no experience getting royally screwed
by them in business as so many people have been through.
