I mean show up as runnable when the name is typed. I doesn't happen for me right now. Maybe I'm not setting my $PATH right? I set it using an export in my bashrc file, but I wonder if that is bash-specific, is there a more universal way? > do not index binaries on $PATH, you can tell files and folders to if you > want, but we are not going to by default, that has been discussed to death. Hmm, okay. Some of my files in bin/ are executable binaries, some of them are scripts in bash, python, etc., again marked executable. What I want is to be able to type the name of one of these files in Do then press return to execute it in a terminal. You are right, I can get this to work by telling the Files and Folders plugin to index my bin, then selecting the Run in Terminal action. Yes, but there could just be a bash plugin for people who do use bash, just like there's a firefox plugin but not everyone uses firefox, etc. > There's an open > bug for this in Launchpad https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/do/+bug/258019. > Patches welcome ;) Ah, cool. Unfortunately I don't have enough spare time to consider writing plugins, so I can't be that helpful. Just suggesting ideas and hoping someone else will do it for me :) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "GNOME Do" group.
